You’ve probably already noticed we’re obsessed with tribal patterns for summer. Well, we’ve decided to update our nails with a chevron pattern for the weekend, using inspiration from the Street Level Color Block Clutch.

It’s totally easy to do it yourself! All you need is blue masking tape, two nail polishes, scissors, and a top coat.

Chevron Nails Step by Step:

1. Find a bright coral polish (or any bold-colored polish) and apply over the base coat. Let this dry completely.

2. Cut off two corners on top and bottom to make chevron strips.

3. Tape the chevron strips to your nails where you’d like to paint the pattern. Make sure the pattern covers your entire nail to create a clean pattern.

4. Choose another bold-colored nail polish (we used magenta) and paint only the exposed parts to create a cool chevron pattern. You can even do a reverse pattern by painting the inner part of the nail instead (like we did with the pinky!)

Hooray - you’re finished! It’s time to rock two trends at once: color block and chevron print!

Nila Anthony Studded Bucket Bag from Little Black Bag
Quick how-to!
You’ll need: base/top coat, tape (if you’d like), 2 polishes
1. Apply your base coat. Let this dry completely.
2. Apply your base color (we’re using Michael Marcus’ Red Hot Momma Nail Polish and a gold polish), and paint your ring finger a different color for that alternating effect. Let everything dry!
3. Here’s where it can get a little tricky-you can either freehand this part, or use tape. If you want to use tape, just place a piece diagonally on your nail and paint only the exposed parts (be careful to make sure the tape completely on your nail, otherwise the line won’t be clean)! Repeat on the other side to create the design on the thumb and ring finger.
4. Take your gold polish, and make lines with the brush (if you have smaller brushes on hand, they’d come in handy right now, but we freehanded it since we didn’t!).
5. Let everything dry, and finish off with a top coat! Now you’re ready to rock some awesome gold-accented nails!

Bright nails are an effortless way to add a pop of color to any outfit! This look is simple yet fun—and you don’t need any special tools! Join us in this do-it-yourself nail tutorial inspired by the Freestyle Adrenaline Watch from Little Black Bag to create a fun wearable look.

Want to know how to get these hot pink polkadot nails? Stay tuned to find out!

You’ll only need three items to complete this look. First, take your favorite hot pink polish (we’re using Michael Marcus’ Paradise Pink and ncLA’s Downtown Dollface from Littleblackbag.com for the dots). Apply a basecoat of your choice, then apply a coat of hot pink polish. Let this coat dry completely before you start the next step!

Now for the fun part:

Take the bobby pin and start dotting! You can either take the bobby pin and dip it into the bottle, or pour a few drops of polish out. Take the bobby pin and start putting dots on your nails—it’s up to you how many or how little you put. You can also change it up by making dots of different sizes!

Annnd here’s the finished look:

Easy, huh? Of course you can use any combination of colors you’d like, but since these were inspired by the Freestyle Adrenaline Watch, we went with hot pink and white. Don’t forget to post on our Facebook page if you try these out!
