There are some big changes coming to Little Black Bag very soon. As valued members of our community, we’re bringing this news to you first.
As many of you know, following our merger with the fashion app Pose, we have been hard at work on a new update to our experience. Our goal? To bring the best elements from Pose’s content platform together with Little Black Bag’s social shopping experience to create a Marketplace for shopping and trading with others! We’re close to launching our new experience, which will be called Pose (read more on how we chose the name here), and as part of the launch, we’ll be making changes to how our sites currently work.
When Pose launches as a marketplace, it means everyone can be a buyer, seller or trader. Not only can you trade the Betsey Johnson bags that you’ve previously bought on LBB, you can also sell and swap anything from your closet! As part of this, we will be making changes to how shipping and gifting currently work. Here’s an outline of exactly what will be changing, why it is changing, and how it will affect you:
Thursday, April 17th
All Items Will Be Final Sale
Beginning on Thursday, all items on Little Black Bag will be final sale only. Because shopping and trading directly with other members in the community is the focus of the Marketplace, we are discontinuing our partnership with our warehouse and taking matters into our own hands! We will no longer be buying inventory and shipping from the warehouse. While we have learned a lot from working with the warehouse, we feel that without it we’ll be able to deliver a better shopping experience to our customers.
So, what does final sale entail? All merchandise purchased on April 17th or later will not be eligible for exchange or returns unless damaged or defective. This includes both new openings and Add to Bag purchases. Any items purchased before this date are still eligible for our regular exchange and return policy. Any merchandise purchased after April 17th that arrives damaged or defective will continue to be covered by our Happiness Guarantee and you can reach out to Customer Service should you experience a problem with your item.
Sunday, May 4th
Gifting Will End
Gifting items will no longer be a primary feature of the new experience. On Sunday, May 4th, both gifting an item to another account, as well as purchasing gift cards, will be turned off.
What does this mean for you? On May 4th, all outstanding gift items will automatically be shipped to the sender’s address on file. If you currently have outstanding gift items you have yet to redeem, you must either ship them to yourself or trade them to create your perfect Little Black Bag.
Return Policy Changes
As mentioned above, we are moving everything to Final Sale. For all items purchased on or before April 16th, we will continue to honor our 30 day return policy. The last day the warehouse will be accepting returns is May 30. In order for the warehouse to properly receive and record the return, we strongly recommend that you ship your item to the warehouse no later than May 15th.
Exchanges Will Become Credits
Beginning on May 4th, if you have outstanding exchange items, these items will be converted into credit that will be added to your account on Pose.
If you currently have outstanding merchandise referral credit, this will be converted into $10 credit for each individual friend that purchased after you invited them. This $10 credit will be in place of the extra $50 item added to your open bag. You will be able to redeem all available referral credits on the same purchase.
All coupons will no longer be usable. If you currently have a coupon you must use it before May 4.
We understand that situations may arise in which bag cancellations will be requested. Cancellation requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please note, if an item in your bag has been traded for, we will not be able to cancel your bag. Bags opened during a promotion or sale are not able to be cancelled while the promotion or sale is active. Please send cancellation requests to firstname.lastname@example.org for review.
